Looking for any excuse to have pumpkin? How about a smoothie?!
When the weather starts to get cold the pumpkin flavors appear. Pumpkin is something I always experiment with in baking, but this year I tried something a little different. I love to start the day with pumpkin coffee in the fall, so why not a pumpkin smoothie too??
For my smoothie I wanted to obviously include a fruit, and peaches immediately came to mind. Typically peach season is over towards the end of summer, but I tend to freeze fruit that is in harvest so I can have it for an extended time. I must say, the combination of pumpkin and peach is absolutely delicious!
This smoothie has a lot more to it than just tasting good. For instance, it’s one protein packed blend! This is also loaded with fiber just from the peach and pumpkin, but definitely with the addition of flax milk too. Both orange foods are also rich in vitamins and especially high in potassium.
I suggest adding in some vanilla and a little nutmeg to create the perfect hint of winter flavoring. Blend it up and enjoy the taste of fall for breakfast!
I will definitely be making more pumpkin smoothies after trying this! I am also sure there will be some more recipes to come with both peach and pumpkin together….
You can use any kind of protein powder for this smoothie, but I started taking a collagen powder and highly suggest adding that in to your diet. It’s recommended to get about 50 grams of protein daily, so I always start with a boost in my morning smoothie! Collagen is absolutely wonderful for your skin!
