Making a smoothie in the mornings is part of my daily routine. I have a long commute to work and it’s easiest to just bring a smoothie with me. Breakfast is SO important, and you should not wait too long to eat after you wake up. Smoothies are so habitual for me now, and I’m sure my body thanks me for that!
The best part about smoothies is they are hard to get bored of because there are so many combinations and add-ins. Besides just using fruit, I make a point to alternate between multiple superfood powders. Superfoods are packed with a multitude of vitamins so they are my go-to smoothie booster.
This one uses goji berries, wheatgrass and maca. I have a stock of these all the time. Yes, it can get expensive, but I would rather spend my money on this that some other things. Plus, one bag or jar can last you for months- even if you use it every day. All of these superfoods provide a great source of protein!
For the base I picked my fruits then added in some greek yogurt and protein powder to thicken it up. Greek yogurt always helps it turn out to be the perfect consistency. The fruit combination made it just the right amount of sweet too!
Recipe is below! Happy blending!
I highly recommend purchasing some superfood powders to have at home. The wheatgrass I mainly use is a powder and I like the Amazing Grass Organic brand.
If you are looking for an extra boost to your morning smoothie I definitely recommend giving this one a try! This protein packed drink is full of vitamins, will keep you going and of course tastes delicious!
great article!! This inspires me to take more protein in my diet. Are these powders easily available in grocery stores?
That’s what I’m trying to do 🙂 I have found these at multiple grocery stores so hopefully it should easy to get some! Try looking in the health section in particular.
