Pyramid Full Body HIIT Routine

The only person you should be competing with is YOU.

Take your HIIT workout to the next level by adding dumbbells! I am all about bodyweight exercises but on occasion I am definitely up for adding a little extra with some light equipment. I have put together a small home gym and I like to change things up from time to time to test my body so I don’t plateau.

At the beginning of every month for one year I did a health and/or fitness challenge in my Facebook group BODY CHALLENGE with Collette. The idea behind this group is to encourage people to get started on their path with exercise and nutrition. In a group setting you can be inspired by each other and gain support from others who have the same goal. There are no requirements at all- anyone can join at any time! It’s all about you vs. you in this group, while creating a supportive atmosphere to keep you motivated. Check it out and invite your friends!

For my November monthly challenge I put together a quick HIIT routine. Although it may be just a few moves, it’s meant to be repeated and race against the clock. I also took it up a notch by adding dumbbells. The circuit is made up of 4 moves, and I ran it for a total of 3 days. The idea is to increase the amount of rounds each day to build up your strength and endurance. For instance, push yourself and see how many rounds you can get done in 5 minutes, then 10 and then 15 over a 3 day period! The pyramid effect teaches you to push your body and compete with yourself.
