This nutritious smoothie will fill you up with potassium!
I just recently tried rhubarb for the first time and decided I need to add it into my diet more. Rhubarb is very good for your health and used in a lot of ancient natural remedies. I plan to bake with it soon, but the first thing I tired was a rhubarb smoothie. Since I also just started making more avocado and oatmeal smoothie recipes I came up with the idea to combine all of them into one! The result was a filling green smoothie with the perfect consistency.
The ingredients for this smoothie are rhubarb, banana, avocado, oats, yogurt, hemp oil and spirulina. Honey is optional as a natural sweetener. I buy frozen rhubarb personally, but that is not required. If you choose to use fresh rhubarb be conscious to only use the stalks, not the greens (as they are toxic). Make sure you remove the seed and the outer skin from the avocado! I would also suggest using a small avocado since it can be overpowering.
The spirulina powder I use is this one, and it has lasted me forever!
Place everything in the blender and add ice and liquid. I just used water but milk would also work well for this smoothie. I recommend putting the oats at the bottom so they can be powdered immediately.
This is a fantastic grab-and-go breakfast option that your body will relish. The addition of rhubarb aids in weight loss and digestion, plus it is loaded with vitamins, nutrients and minerals! Avocados are high in folate, can regulate your blood-sugar levels and provide a healthy fat. When blended in to a smoothie they thicken it up perfectly! Combine this with oats and you have a quick meal replacement that is loaded with protein and fiber.
Once blended enjoy the creamy potassium-packed oatmeal smoothie!
Love superfoods and quick smoothies? You can get all in one if you just buy the right protein powder. My personal choice is Shakeology, which I add to my smoothies for an extra boost or blend on it’s own!

If you are mixing for one instead of two, try this personal blender! It’s great for on-the go smoothies to take with you straight from blending. I’ve even used this at work because it doesn’t take up much room on a desk.
