Cherry Sweet Potato Smoothie

Sweet potatoes are a surprisingly perfect addition to a smoothie!

When you make a smoothie in the morning you often include only fruit or some spinach for greens, but have you tried putting other veggies in with your blend? I more often than not juice my vegetables, but they can really change up your smoothies too!

A combination I tried that paired wonderfully is cherries with sweet potatoes. I sometimes find myself making the same smoothies over and over again but there are so many options out there for making something new. Cherries are one of the best fruits that you can throw into a smoothie! I use them quite a bit but I had never thought to try them with anything but other fruits. To be honest, I had never used a sweet potato in a smoothie before! This addition can help boost collagen, ease stomach pains and have high levels of vitamin D. This vegetable is a common one to cook with, but putting it in a smoothie is another way to get this nutritious food into your system. These two together are a powerhouse of sweet goodness!

A superfood addition is the key ingredient to your blend!

Spirulina powder is a superfood that you should definitely add in to your smoothies from time to time. Adding this into your diet helps with detoxifying and purifying your body, plus it has powerful anti-aging properties. Spirulina will give you a boost of B vitamins, iron and is a good source of protein. This supplement can even help with allergies!

This is a sweet and satisfying smoothie that will give you a serving of both fruit and vegetables to start off your day! The cherries and spirulina together make this morning meal extremely good for liver health also. Give this sweet potato smoothie a try and drink up the benefits!

The spirulina powder that I use is featured below. It’s well worth the investment because it lasts for months!

What protein powder are you adding in to your smoothies? My choice is a brand called Shakeology that has a variety of flavors. The best part about this additive is that it’s so much more than just a protein powder. It’s loaded with superfoods, vegetables and fruits!
