Egg White Face Mask

There are plenty of products out there to improve your skin, but I always try to incorporate all natural face masks into my monthly routine. One of my top go-to face masks uses eggs, which can restore youth to your skin.

This mask is perfect for skin tightening and minimizing your pores and wrinkles (which is the main thing that I look for). Plus, it only requires two ingredients! It’s very simple to put together and has powerful effects if you do it often. You can really feel it work on your face too! My favorite part about it is looking in the mirror halfway through because it gives a natural botox appearance. The combination of lemon with the egg work together as an astringent so besides reducing fine lines this can help control acne for those who have oily skin. I have done this without lemon before and it works just fine with the egg on its own.

Start by cracking the egg open carefully. Try to keep the yolk in one half of the shell and slowly transfer it back and forth over a bowl, dripping only the whites out.

Once all of the egg whites are in the bowl add the lemon juice and mix well.

Make sure your face is clean and all make up removed before you put the mixture on your skin. Apply using your fingers until your face is covered, making sure to avoid getting it in your eyes or mouth.

Leave on your face for at least 15 minutes, but up to 30 minutes max. You will feel your skin tighten as the mixture hardens.

Rinse off when the time is up. I usually apply a moisturizing lotion afterwards.

This mask will make your face feel nourished and have you looking younger each time you do it. I alternate between a few different types of homemade masks but if I had to choose only one to continue using- this would be it!

I found another site that describes additional masks you can do with egg whites, and I definitely plan on trying some of these too! One that I have tried came from here and it involves coffee grounds. It’s so easy to put together and made my skin feel wonderful afterwards!

Note: Do not try this mask if you are allergic to eggs! Also make sure you wash up thoroughly after using raw egg on your skin.

I love egg white masks! I’ve heard some women say these masks are old-fashioned, but I think nothing beats the benefits of all-natural facial ingredients. How often would you say you can apply this mask?

I think it’s ‘old fashioned’ only in the sense that it’s been around so long because it truly works! I received a tip that it should be used twice a week, but I admit I don’t keep up with it that often- for me probably more like once a month. I do other masks as well though, but this is the one I see the quickest results from!

What a great recipe. I love how easy it is. Normally, I skip the DIY masks because I’m too lazy! But with just 2 ingredients I think I’m going to give this one a try.

It’s a quick one for sure! I usually do it in the morning while I am getting ready. To make it quicker you can buy those cartons of egg whites to use so you don’t have to feel like you are wasting yolk or making an extra mess.
